Quintin Alexander hit two home runs and drove in four as the Muskies defeated the UDC Hitters 9-1 on Tuesday at De La Salle High School in Chicago.
Alexander's solo home run in the third put the Muskies on the board first. Camden Kearney then hit a solo home run to right field in the top of the fourth to give the Muskies a 2-0 lead. The Hitters got their only run of the night in the bottom of the fourth on a pair of hits off Muskie starter Nick Noles. In the top of they fifth, the Muskies scored three times on RBI doubles from AJ Le and Andy Gaytan and an RBI groundout from Kearney. Nolan Czako hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the sixth for the Muskies to make the score 6-1. Alexander's second homer of the night scored three runs in the top of the eighth to make the score 9-1.
Nick Noles earned the win for Beecher to improve to 4-1 on the season. The righthander allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Frank Curbis took the loss for the Hitters. Josh Sutker, Zach Millsap, Ben Carlile, and Jack Thompson each threw shutout innings for Muskies in relief. Beecher piled up nine hits in the game. Andrew Olszewski and Alexander each collected two hits.
The win improves the Muskies to 19-6 on the season. They return to Chicago Suburban Baseball League play on Wednesday night against the Oswego Cats at Bourbonnais' Diamond Point Park at 7:30 PM.
