The Chicago Warriors defeated the Muskies 11-3 on Tuesday at Gouwens Park thanks in part to six runs in the sixth inning. The Warriors got on the board in the first when Nick Lagges doubled home two runs. A sacrifice fly by Julian Cabanin extended the Warriors' lead to 3-0 in the top of the second inning. They blew the game open with six runs on three hits in the top of the sixth inning with the big blow being a Ryan Kramer grand slam to center field.
Austin Schnurr earned the win for the Warriors. The left-handed pitcher allowed four hits and two runs over six innings, striking out five and walking two. Nick Noles took the loss for Muskies. The righty went five innings, surrendering four runs on five hits, striking out two and walking six. Jack Flagg earned the save.
Andy Gaytan (pictured left) led Beecher with three hits in four at bats. Camden Kearney, AJ Le, and Gaytan each drove in one run for Muskies. With the win the Warriors pulled into a virtual tie with the Muskies for first place in the Chicago Suburban Baseball League.
Next up for the Muskies are the New Lenox Pumas on Thursday night. The Muskies will travel to Lincoln Way Central High School for a 7:30 CSBL game.
