Andrew Olszewski drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Muskies past the Addison Braves 19-9 in the first game of a Chicago Suburban Baseball League doubleheader on Sunday at Sippel Memorial Field. In the fifth inning, Olszewski hit a grand slam to left field. Both offenses were strong at the plate as the Muskies collected 10 hits and the Braves seven in the high-scoring affair.
The Muskies got on the board in the first on a Mark Dye RBI single. The lead expanded when Beecher scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the second inning. But the Braves came back to tie the game in the top of the fourth thanks in part to a grand slam to center field by Joshua Cunniff. The Muskies took the lead again in the bottom of the fourth as Dye drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to give Beecher a 7-6 lead. In the fifth, the Braves again tied the score at 7-7 then took a two run lead on a home run to center field by James Swarbrick. In the bottom of the sixth the Muskies broke up the game in a wild inning that saw them score eight runs with the big blow being Nolan Czako's bases loaded double that scored three runs.
Reliever Jack Callejo (pictured above right) earned the win for the Muskies. The pitcher surrendered one hit and one run over one inning, striking out three and walking one. Andrew Pastewski took the loss for Addison. Bryce Shafer started on the bump for Muskies. The starter surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking none.
The Muskies tallied 10 hits in the game. Czako paced the offense with three hits in four at bats. Quintin Alexander collected two hits for Muskies in three at bats.
In game 2, the Muskies took down the Braves 5-0 as four pitchers combined for the shutout.
Beecher got on the board in the second inning on a Zac Ruzich solo home run to left. A sacrifice fly by Andy Gaytan extended the Muskies' lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the third inning. Jack Thompson earned the win for Beecher. The reliever allowed one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out three and walking two. Alex Cardoza took the loss for Addison. The starter went five and two-thirds innings, surrendering five runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out two and walking six. Kris Honel opened the game for Muskies. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and no runs over two innings, striking out four and walking none. Brooks McDowell collected the save. Camden Kearney pitched one inning of no-run ball for Muskies in relief as well.

The Muskies improved to 4-1 on the season and 3-0 in CSBL play with the two wins. On Wednesday, the Muskies host the Lombard Orioles at Gouwens Park in South Holland in a CSBL contest.
